How to view and understand donation limits
A donation limit restricts the total amount you can collect from donors within a set period, depending on your plan. Limits may apply monthly or yearly.
While donation limits restrict how much you can collect in a certain timeframe, they do not affect the total balance you can hold in your Sowfund account.
Example: If you’re on a Free plan with a $250 monthly donation limit, you can still hold $500 in your Sowfund account without needing to withdraw it.
How the donation usage graph works
The donation usage graph is located just below the Withdraw button on your dashboard. It visually tracks how much of your donation limit you’ve used and how much remains.
If you have recurring monthly donors, the graph will automatically account for those upcoming donations at the start of each reset period. This helps prevent recurring gifts from failing due to insufficient available space under your plan’s limit.
Your donation usage graph resets at the start of each billing cycle:
If you upgrade from the Free plan to the Starter plan, your usage graph will reset. This is because a new billing cycle begins when you purchase a paid plan, overriding the old cycle from the previous plan.
Plans affected by donation limits
Donation limits apply to the Free and Starter plans. If you want to remove donation limits entirely, you can upgrade to the Pro plan. Learn how to upgrade your plan here.
